I just bought this in a little Sephora haul of mine. So far, I have used it twice, and it is quite safe to say, I really like it. Before trying it, I had opened it to get a whiff of it’s scent, which I turned out not to like, however I tried it in the shower, and the scent changed to a sweet, cotton-like floral scent. It was not over-bearing, and did have a refreshing feeling to it! It made my skin feel as if I had put on a bit of moisturizer! Even after a shower, it had a light, but lingering scent on my skin which I loved, and my skin felt smooth and a bit softer. It is much better than the other body washes I have tried. It is also, indeed! Creamy :)

Made in USA

Price: $7

It is a bit pricey, I think for it’s size, but it is defnitely a good product.

Buy again? Yes! However, I would like to try the mango scent next time.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Review

image

I decide to try this out, psyched about all the good reviews on Sephora. I admit, it is quite long-wearing and smudge-proof. However, I did not like it at all. The liner looked a bit too shiny of a black. It’s tip is extremely thin and good for precision, but the ink was uncontrollable. It does not glide on easily . When I used it, sometimes no ink would come out. It seemed as if the ink was mostly already dried up(even when it’s brand new). And then sometimes a bunch came flooding out. Too inconsistant.

Made in USA

Price: I bought for $18 in Sephora

Buy again? No.

Probably not the worst eyeliner out there, but no where near average.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Emulision Review

Purpose: (right off Sephora!)

What it is:
A rich, brightening nighttime moisturizer that revitalizes skin.

What it does:
Reverse the effects of daily exposure to external stressors such as UV rays and dryness. This complex refines the skin’s texture to optimize clarity and promote radiance. The powerful formula contains Multi-Target Vitamin C to reduce existing pigmentation and Super Hydro-Synergy Complex to deeply moisturize for softer, smoother skin. M-Tranexamic Acid prevents new dark spots from emerging.

This is extremely moisturizing as compared to the Shiseido White Lucent Birghtening Balancing Softener. It’s texture is the opposite. It is a very rich, white, milky texture, and only a bit is needed(and probably more than enough) for your full face. I used this on my face, neck, chest, and even my legs. It is not immediate in results, but over a few months I did see that it helped a lot to rid of my light tan. During this time, however, I was also avoiding the sun too. Downside to this though, is because it is sooo moisturizing and thick, it cannot be for daily use. It suits normal to dry skin.. Otherwise, it is very easy to break out from. My skin is not very oily, nor dry, but I broke out from this after 4 days of daily use(a bit scary, huh?!!) But I guess that just shows as to why it works well— rich in ingredients! But anyways, here is the actual

Ingredients list: Water, Hydrogenated C6-14 Olefin Polymers, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Peg-20, Dimethicone, Peg-150, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Sodium Chloride, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Tocopheryl Acetate, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Tamarix Chinensis Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Lauryl Betaine, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Rosa Roxburghii Fruit Extract, Rehmannia Chinensis Root Extract, Hypericum Erectum Extract, Zingiber Aromaticus Extract, Petrolatum, Sorbitan Sesquistearate, Alcohol, Citric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Trisodium Edta, Cellulose Gum, Isostearic Acid, Sodium Metabisulfite, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance,

I used this for a long time.. With regular use, perhaps 2-3 days a week to keep from breaking out! Not that suitable for teens, but still able to try out :) It’s scent is does not have alcohol in it(unlike the balancing softener)!

Made in Japan

Price: $59.50 at Sephora and Nordstrom; ebay approx. $47-48

Buy again? If it was like $30, yes.. but for $40s to $50s, I would not buy again for the time being. I do like the results, but it’s not everyday-usable and for the time-being I’d like to try some new products :)

Better than average for whitening, but a bit too much moisture for teens, or even in 20s.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener Toner Review

Purpose: balances skin tone, brightens skin, softens skin, super-hydro synergy for hydration, contains tranexamic acid to lighten skin, minimize dark spots

image

I have nearly used up my 150ml now, which will be my first and last. I really do like Shiseido products, however with frequent use of this, I have barely seen any change. A positive, is that my skin does look a bit more even colored, but then again my skin was not uneven colored in the first place. I bought this for it’s whitening effects that I did not encounter with. As for softeness and hydration, this is a very liquid and water-like substance, as many Japanese brand lotions are. It is extremely light-weight. Personally though, I feel it is a bit too lightweight and water-ish for me. It did not do much to soften my skin, and my skin did not feel very hydrated after a hot shower. This would be good for those who have acne, and want a lightweight product– And perhaps just to give it a shot at the whitening properties! As for smell, it is a super-light floral, but refreshing scent, however I do smell quite a bit of alcohol in it which I didn’t like.

In routine, I used this once a day, immediately after a hot shower.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Alcohol, Xylitol, Tranexamic Acid, PEG-6, PEG-32, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Gluceth-10, PPG-13-Decyltetradeceth-24, PEG/PPG-14/7 Dimethyl Ether, Erythritol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Citrate, 2-0-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Trisodium EDTA, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Juice, Fragrance (Parfum), Isostearic Acid, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lauryl Betaine, Yellow 6 (CI 15985), Glucosyl Hesperidin, Tocopherol, Red 4 (CI 14700), Sodium Benzoate.

Their White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Emulision worked much better in skin whitening as well as moisturizing (review coming up!!)

Made in Japan

Price: I bought it from ebay for $42, retail $48 at Sephora

Buy Again? If it was much cheaper, like $20 I would give it another shot, however at $40-ish, defnitely not.

It did nearly nothing for me, but I did not break out or have negative side effects (but then again, I do not have sensitive skin either)… So I rate this as quite average!

Likas Papaya Soap (Skin Whitening Organic Herbal Soap) Review

Purpose: Eliminates freckles, eliminates acne scars, whitens skin, prevents acne

image

Hello! This will be my first review in Skin Care. I chose the Likas Papaya Soap because of all the internet craze over it. There is also a soap similar to Likas, called Silka, however, I have not yet tried that one. I have currently used the Likas Papaya Soap for 2 years. It does not give immediate results or seem to make a difference within a few times of usage. However, I do feel that my skin is a bit lighter partially due to its everyday usage. I have used it for face & body. Keep in mind, though with everyday usage it does help, it will not have much effect if you are out in the sun a lot. That does not give it any time to show effects. For me personally, this soap makes my skin a bit too dry to use every single say, especially during the winter. This soap would be especially good for oily skin. I used to have more oily skin, and this soap really helped to clear up my face. With only 2 weeks of usage, I had completely clear skin. For medium to severe cases of acne, however, it will take much longer.

For my previous routine, I would use this soap twice a day. Once on the face in the morning, and the second time would be full body— During a shower. In that time, I was not using any other skin care treatments, so I felt that this really dried up my skin and made it hard.

Ingredients: sodium cocoyl isethionate, stearic acid, sodium tallowate, water, sodium isethionate, coconut acid, cocamidopropyl betaine, and/or sodium laureth sulfate and/or sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, sodium sterate, sodium cocoate, or sodium palm kernelate, fragrance, sodium chloride, titanium dioxide, triosodium edta, papaya enzyme, FD&C yellow 3 FD&C red 40

Though the name is “papaya soap,” papaya enzyme is actually one the last ingredients in it. It is said to be organic, but there are processed chemicals inside it(making me skeptic) which is why this is not a good soap for sensitive skin. Over long periods of time, it will make skin a bit itchy and irritate it. But if you do have sensitive skin and decide to give this a try, remember you still have to do your regular moisturizing routines for your face! I did not, and that left me with a dry, itchy feeling after a long period of time using this.

Made in Philippines

Price: Local store approx. $4, Ebay $6-7

Would I buy this again? I probably still would, since it clears up acne very nicely and does have some whitening effect over time. Also, one bar lasts quite long(months, really!!), but I will defnitely not use it everyday. Perhaps just 3 days a week, along with moisturizers after every shower.

Better than average soap, but not in love with it.
